Growing up swimming and playing water polo, in san diego, ca, Tara has always understood the importance of having an active and healthy lifestyle. Tara received her BA in psychology from California State University, San Marcos, and her MA in Psychological Research from California University, Long Beach. While she was in graduate school,Tara wanted to find a fun way to reduce stress while staying healthy and active. In 2010, Tara took her first barre class and instantly fell in love. After only a few months, Tara knew she would somehow find a way to open a studio of her own.
When the time was right for Tara to open her own studio, she knew studio barre was the perfect fit. She loved how studio barre put such a strong importance on creating an environment where everyone is welcomed with a warm smile and a challenging workout! Tara knew studio barre’s strong community-centered culture would be the perfect fit for charleston! In november 2014 she opened Studio Barre James Island and has enjoyed seeing the way studio barre has changed so many people’s lives.
Tara and her husband, Pete, had their first child, Davey, in January 2017. She has loved having a fun, safe, and effective workout she was able to do throughout her pregnancy and after giving birth. Not only did she enjoy the physical benefits studio barre provided after having a baby, but she also has been blown away by the emotional and social support provided by studio barre’s amazing community of staff and clients.
